Chitradurga Fort     The Chitradurga Fort is decorated with several inscriptions of the Chalukyas, the Hoysalas, and the Vijayanagara Kings. These inscriptions are found in and around the fort. According to some inscriptions here, this area dates back to the 3rd millennium BC. Archaeologists have also found Ashokan period rock edicts near Brahmagiri that link Chitradurga to the , a feudatory of the Vijaynagar Empire. Sri Thipperudraswamy Temple   Sri Guru Thipperudraswamy temple is one of the popular temples situated in Nayakanahatti of Chitradurga district from 15th century. It consists of three temples or Mata’s namely, Ola Mata, Hora Mata and Ekanta Mata. Ola Mata is the heart of Nayakanahatti temples, it was the primary residence of spiritual Guru Thipperudraswamy. In the outskirts of the town is Hora Mata which has the Jeeva samadhi (tomb) of Guru Thipperudraswamy. Ekanta Mata which is around 3 kilometers from Ola Mata is the place where the Guru would retreat for penance. Sri Guru Thipperudraswamy, Indian spiritual guru and social reformer was admired by both Hindu and Muslim devotees. It is believed that Sri Guru Thipperudraswamy is an incarnation of one of the five Ganadheeshwaras to spread Shaivism as ordered by Lord Shiva himself.
