Chitradurga fort is the one of most Historical Place in karnataka
The Chitradurga Fort is decorated with several inscriptions of the Chalukyas, the Hoysalas, and the Vijayanagara Kings. These inscriptions are found in and around the fort. According to some inscriptions here, this area dates back to the 3rd millennium BC. Archaeologists have also found Ashokan period rock edicts near Brahmagiri that link Chitradurga to the , a feudatory of the Vijaynagar Empire.
The years from 1500 to 1800 AD proved to be turbulent for the Chitradurga Fort. The Vijaynagar Empire had taken this region from the Hoysalas and they brought the Nayakas, the traditional local chieftains of this area, under their control as their feudatory. Their dynastic reign ended in 1565. After 1565, the Nayakas of Chitradurga decided to rule this region independently and their clan ruled over it undisturbed for 200 years until the last of their rulers, Madakari Nayaka V, was defeated by Hyder Ali.

During the reign of Madakari Nayaka the city of Chitradurga was besieged by the troops of (1754-1779). A chance sighting of a man entering the Chitradurga fort through a hole in the rocks led to a plan by Hyder Ali to send his soldiers through that hole. The Guard (Kahale Mudda Hanuma, who was on duty near that hole) had gone home to have his lunch. During his meal he needed some water to drink, so his wife Obavva went to collect water in a pot from a pond which was near the hole in the rocks, halfway up the hill. She noticed the army trying to enter the fort through the hole. She used the Onake or to kill the soldiers one by one by hig them on the head and then quietly moving each corpse without raising the suspicions of the rest of the troops. Mudda Hanuma returned from lunch and was shocked to see Obavva standing with a blood stained Onake and several of the enemies' dead bodies around her. Later, the same day, she was found dead either due to shock or having been killed by the enemy soldiers.Though her brave attempt saved the fort this time, Madakari could not resist the attack by Hyder Ali during 1779, when the fort of Chitradurga was lost to Hyder Ali.
Sampige siddeshwara temple
Sampige Siddheshvara temple is at the foot of the hill. In the Gopalakrishna Temple, inscriptions date the idol to the early 14th century. In the lower fort, a temple dedicated to the tutelary deity of the Nayaka Palegars, the or , was built amidst the rocks of the fort complex on the hill.Kudure Hejje
Maddu Beesuva Kallu

- This is Maddu Beesuva Kallu which means Gun Powder Grinder. It is located on the left of the fort entrance after the Banashankari temple. Once you enter the fort turn left and walk like 200m there is the temple and past temple is this structure.
